Pulmonary blastoma with submandibular, scrotum and adrenal metastases: case report.

چکیده
A 62-year-old patient diagnosed with pulmonary blastoma with submandibular, scrotum and adrenal metastases was admitted to Sotiria General Hospital in Athens. No other such case has been published to date. The patient started receiving chemotherapy, but the scrotum metastasis grew rapidly and erupted. This led to sepsis despite surgical excision of infected and necrotic tissues and intravenous antibiotics. Treatment strategy in pulmonary blastoma should be defined by a multidisciplinary team, and surgical treatment should be considered as quickly as possible when such a tumor is suspected.

PULMONARY BLASTOMA: REPORT OF A CASE AND REVIEW OF THE LITERATURE
We describe a case of pulmonary blastoma, a rare primary lung malignancy which affects a younger population. This tumor contains both mesenchymal and epithelial elements. Pulmonary blastoma tends to relapse locally and metastasizes mainly in the first few years. It has a poor 5-year prognosis, and shows a potentid radio-chemosensitivity. Because these tumors are considered malignant, surgic...
متن کاملPulmonary blastoma: a case report and brief review of the literature of tumor-induced hypoglycemia
BACKGROUND Tumor induced hypoglycemia (TIH) is a rare clinical entity that can be caused by different mechanisms such as secretion of various substances, autoimmune disorders, massive tumoral infiltration of liver, and pituitary or adrenal glands destruction by tumors. Furthermore, any type of neoplasms can cause TIH. CASE PRESENTATION The patient presented with a case of classic biphasic pul...

Pulmonary blastoma is a rare series of malignant lung tumor, which contains three categories: classic biphasic pulmonary blastoma, pluropulmonary blastoma, and well-differentiated fetal adenocarcinoma. In this study, a 19-year old female suffering with classic biphasic pulmonary blastoma and metastases in brain and axilla was presented with special interest in clinicopathological presentations,...
متن کاملF-18 FDG PET/CT Imaging of Eccrine Sweat Gland Carcinoma of the Scrotum with Extensive Regional and Distant Metastases
Eccrine carcinoma is an extremely rare malignant skin cancer arising from eccrine sweat glands with a high metastatic potential. It mainly occurs in the elderly, with equal incidence in both sexes. It usually spreads to regional lymph nodes, with liver, lungs, and bones being the most common sites of distant metastasis. Because of tumor rarity, little is known about the value of F18- FDG PET/CT...
